Michigan Bloggers visit Bradshaws

This past weekend Stratford welcomed 6 dynamic Bloggers from the Detroit Michigan area to experience our wonderful city and share it with their followers. We welcomed Alleigh Chrzan, Evann Webb, Grace Liang, Sarah Brithinee, Liz McGuffin and Anne Adams – to Bradshaws to experience our store and Carrie curated a tablescape design for their Sunday morning Brunch at Stratford Chef School with Tracey from Perfect Pastry and  Anne from revel.

Carrie’s design was inspired by our gorgeous city, the park system at the heart of Stratford, the signs of nature all around and our majestic royal Swans. Our swans are royalty after all – in 1967, Queen Elizabeth gifted six pairs of her royal swans to Ottawa in honours of Canada’s Centennial anniversary. One of those pairs was given to Stratford and the female lived for more than 20 years with many offspring.

A layered tablescape with various size and shape vases, vessels and candlesticks adds a sculptural interest but keeps the table light and airy. Carrie used Bradshaws new wood and ceramic intricate and interesting candle sticks, ceramic vases and small pottery inspired vessels.

Carrie started each place setting with modern round black swan placemats, stunning crackle glazed turquoise dish set, rose gold flatware and the most beautiful rose coloured glasses.  A place setting that  embodied the vibrancy and life of Stratford.

These beautifully swan inspired gift-wrapped boxes of chocolates were purchased at Chocolate Barrs in Stratford and are topped with an adorable cast-iron swan figurine.

Sometimes all you need is to forage in your own backyard for some interesting greens and grasses to and a modern whimsical touch that signified the swans walking through the grasses along the Avon River in Stratford.

Perfectly elegant swan statements for a modern fun feel. This happens to be the cutest salt cellar ever, and of course, PERFECT for our swan tablescaping! (It also comes in a black version with a gold spoon)

Carrie added multi-coloured Mongolian Sheep Skins in various colours  to the backs of chairs for a textural look and feel. This special detail seemed to be everyone’s favourite touch!
